Description

A metal duct joiner is a crucial component used in connecting two pieces of duct that are of the same size. 

  1. Purpose and Function:

    • The primary purpose of a metal duct joiner is to create a secure connection between two duct sections.
    • It ensures that air flows smoothly through the ductwork without leaks or disruptions.

    • The joiner is made of  galvanized steel.
    • It features a cylindrical shape with an opening at each end.
    • To install, simply fit the ducting over the joiner.
    • The connection can then be taped or clamped in place for stability.

  3. Considerations:

    • Support: Properly support the ducts to prevent joints from being pulled apart or damaged.
    • Insulation: Remember that not only the duct core but also the insulation material (if present) needs securing. Duct tapes and straps can be used for this purpose.
